The Hudson Valley Jazz Ensemble played great at todays live brunch set at the Iron Forge Inn in Warwick, NY. Nothing better than good jazz and good food at the end of a nice weekend. The ensemble consists of Dave Smith on keyboards, Jeremy Goldberg on bass and Steve Rubin on the drums. They played very well together, as they should be seasoned players throughout New York in their own rights. We did a brief interview with them in between sets in which they had some valuable words on, for and about playing jazz. You'll have to check out Phan Media for that. We also kicked with the owner and chef of the Iron Forge Inn, Erik Johansen. We talked about the history of the inn and how he himself started as a washer and the family emblems that gives the inn it's distinct texture. Being a pescatarian myself, the Farmer's Egg Friattata was dope...meaning good! I'll definitely will be going back. Service is top notch as well. Stop by there if you haven't and in or near Warwick. It's a beautiful time to get away from city and enjoy some good country side.
